Publicity for a small business can be a very good thing and it can be exciting to see your name in print! Publicity, however, may not always net as much business as one would hope. The type of publicity, in what publications, how widely the publication is distributed, whether there are photographs or not, and the accuracy of the information included can all contribute to the outcome. Rex and/or his furniture have appeared in several publications, two more recent and notable, http://www.texashighways.com/ January 2004 issue and Metropolitan Home magazine, March 2003 issue, are shown here. I particularly like the one with Rex holding his rocking chair over his head! Take a look!

Good comments about the vagaries of publicity. I have been surprised in both directions -- by little or no response to publicity I thought would make a splash, and by unexpectedly big responses to small endeavors. And sometimes publicity seeds don't take root and grow til much later. So, I just keep at it as I can and hope to make positive connections, whether big or small.
ReplyDeleteI think we need to see a close-up of that shot with Rex holding up the rocker! ;-)
